Rain cladded World Cup

On Sunday, India thrashed Pakistan (Pak) once again as they used to do at least in World Cups (WC) in a rain affected match.

DLS modified target was 305 but poor batting Pak could only get 212. The only positive thing the Pak could take from that game should be pacer Mohammad Amir's lethal attacks - starting the first over with a maiden. He got Rohit Sharma, he got Dhoni, and basically he did his job pretty well.

But Pak batsmen seemed distracted and fell apart quite easily. Only second wicket partnership was worth seeing. Even that was slow and never threatened India strongly.
So that’s about the famous and blood bathed India Pak clash aided by political and military unrests between them.

Now, let's talk something about this WC overall.

Hosted by England and Wales and criticized for heavy wicket bells this WC has been badly affected by continuous and strong rain so far.

Most affected in Sri Lanka (SL) who has to share a point each in their two matches because of the stupid rain. SL is in a very weak position slightly above South Africa (SA).

SA could not even complain citing their own compromised performance and injury for star bowler Dale Steyn. But their bowling is the main problem, their batting and fielding is.

Even the great AB de Villiers offered to come out from his retirement to play but since he had not been playing ODI for the last six months the cricket board and the captain Faf du Plessis categorically rejected the idea which fans detest but I think necessary as a team already playing as a unit.

Bringing Villiers means ask already playing player to go home who is young and aspired for his career. On the other hand, Villiers has already achieved in international cricket by his strength and capability.

Now, he is more suited for playing in T20 franchises.

Unlike other WCs, there were at least five times the wicket bell didn't fell after hit by ball. Which is depressing for the bowler, even bad for the team. Luckily, the team who benefitted from not falling the bell has been all the losing side.

ICC is heavily slashed for only playing ten nations in the WC. Some even say this should be called Common Wealth Cricket Tournament. This can't qualify to be called a WC.

Anyway, even Zimbabwe could not play because of ICC's ten countries idea and qualifying stage.

All in all, this WC hasn't been exciting and interesting till now at least for me. And I can say I am a huge cricket fan though lately I find football more appealing.

FIFA has vowed to include 48 nations in next WC but ICC could not forget his tyrannical stance by not letting other cricket budding countries to participate.

Even Nepal should have been eligible to play.

But who knows what ICC is thinking? If they want to save cricket further then they should opt for more team WC.
