Frustrated youths

One of my friend, who is a computer engineer by profession, always talks like a totally frustrated person. In fact, he is regarded as a ‘complain box’ in our friend circle. He don’t like his current job where he gets very little salary. He wants to go abroad but due to his family’s economic stature he is unable to pay handsome amount to go some lavish country. On the other hand, he is constantly trying for governmental vacancies for like two years. Still, no luck. He drinks alcohol a lot and smokes like 10 cigarettes daily to beat his frustration.

My friend is just an example of fragile Nepali youths. There are thousands of youths in Nepal whose mental status is not stable and are constantly struggling with their fragile state of mind. And so many reasons are also there for this. Some days ago, about 3300 youths passed the EPS test to be able to work in South Korea. Worst part is more than 70, 000 Nepali youths have attended that examination. It is just a minor instance of dangerous scenario of unemployment in our country.

Literally, no youths want to stay in the country. Everybody are talking about their abroad plans. And who are staying in Nepal they are vying for governmental jobs. Since private institutions generally don’t pay nice, qualified youths are attracted toward governmental job. One more obstacle is there for youths without any high level person recommending for them. Actually, nepotism is in its peak that it’s hard to get governmental job only with your qualification and skills.

Overwhelming development of technology also plays a vital role in making youth fragile these days. We can watch marvelous underground train facility in Japan in our mobile phone, and get jealous! Moreover, youths get diverse set of contents through social media that may influence their desires and mental states. Back home, we cannot even get to see minimum infrastructures as well. It pushes youths to get out of the country as soon as possible.

If youths look at political condition, then there will be more frustration and pain. On average, governments get changed every 6 or 9 months due to greedy and power-centric nature of political parties. KP Oli led government was ousted soon after 9 months in power. And Pushma Kamal Dahal’s recently formed government will get its position only until Chaitra. After that, Sher Bahadur Deuba is said to lead new government. Fragile cabinet and changeable ministers will further dampen the pace of development which Nepal is already lagging.

Fragile youths may seek mental peace through meditation and yoga. It helps a lot to gain mental composure. Optimism should be our jewelry to wear every time.

In conclusion, our youths are so fragile due to political instability, uncertain future, unemployment, low pay and many other reasons. Being a youth myself, I suggest all to try to find mental peace and calmness through meditation and yoga.
