Flexible to play either in middle or in attacking position, Rooney has spent his 13 glorious years at Manchester United and now back to his darling club Everton.

Wayne Rooney Senior and Jeanette, Rooney’s parents, both are fans of Liverpool situated club Everton. But Rooney himself was playing for young Liverpool club side. In these days, a scout of Everton Bob Pendleton had seen Rooney playing some serious and marvelous football. Instantly, he arranged the club to sign young Rooney for Everton football academy. At the age of 16, Rooney got to play from their senior side in the English Premier League (EPL). His last minute winner goal against the mighty Arsenal club, which was 30 games unbeaten in the league, in October 2002 still steers goose bumps in Everton fans. After that goal, Rooney quickly ascended to limelight and never turned back.

Rooney’s life took a more positive turn when Everton were playing United at Old Trafford. The great Sir Alex Ferguson was eager to sign Rooney to his United side. Despite Everton chairman’s reluctance, Ferguson succeeded in signing the then-best young player of England. Playing for 13 years for the Reds, he has scored 253 goals across all competition ahead of Sir Bobby Charlton.
Rooney was known as short tempered footballer for a very long time. That’s why he expressed his desire to leave the club citing tussles with the Ferguson. He wanted to move to United’s biggest rival club City in October 2010. However, he stayed in the club after his salary has been doubled. Gradually, Reds fans did not cherish Rooney like before and slowly dislike him. Finally, Rooney made his way to his old club Everton on free transfer this summer.
